Moving Out? Clean the Places Landlords Actually Check

3 min readBy Pink Empire Cleaning

When a rental is handed back, the walk-through is rarely about whether the floors were vacuumed. It is about the places that are easy to forget precisely because you never look at them while you live somewhere.

Inside the oven and under the burners is the classic one. So is the inside of the refrigerator, and the floor underneath it once it has been pulled out. Extractor filters, the rubber seal around the washing machine door, the tracks that the windows and sliding doors run in, the tops of door frames, and the inside of every cabinet and drawer once it has been emptied — all of it is visible to someone doing an inspection, and none of it gets touched by ordinary weekly cleaning.

The other thing worth knowing is that an empty home is a genuinely different job from an occupied one. Everything is reachable, nothing has to be worked around, and the standard expected is higher because there is no furniture to hide behind. That is why turnover cleaning is its own service rather than a normal clean booked on a moving date.

The same applies in reverse when you are moving in. A place that looks clean after the previous tenant has gone very often is not, in exactly the spots listed above — and those are the spots you would rather have dealt with before your own things are in the way.

Handing keys back, or picking them up? Call (323) 334-8804 and we will fit a move-in or move-out clean around your date.
