This is the question we get asked most, and it is worth getting right, because a standard clean and a deep clean are not the same job at different prices — they are different jobs.
A standard clean is maintenance. It is the routine, top-to-bottom pass over the spaces you actually use every day, and it assumes the home is already at a reasonable baseline. Booked regularly, it is what stops a place from ever drifting. Most homes that are cleaned on a schedule never need anything more than this.
A deep clean is a reset. It is what you book when the baseline has slipped — when there is build-up that a routine pass will not shift, when a room has been shut up for a season, or when a space has simply been neglected for a while and needs bringing back. It goes after the things a maintenance clean does not reach.
The practical test is simple: ask yourself whether the place is dirty because it has not been cleaned this week, or because it has not been cleaned properly in a long time. The first is a standard clean. The second is a deep clean, and asking for a standard clean will leave you feeling short-changed through no fault of the work.
The pattern that works best for most homes is both, in order: one deep clean to establish a standard, then standard cleans on a schedule to hold it. Trying to hold a standard that was never set is where frustration comes from, and repeatedly deep-cleaning your way out of a problem that regular visits would have prevented is the expensive way round.
